Must be age 55+, low-income and must self-certify income. Someone else can pick up food on behalf of a senior.

Identification with birth date and proof of residency.

Applicants can fill out a one-page application form at the Senior Food Program site in their area or call the food bank for an application to be mailed.

Description

Provides groceries to low-income seniors 55+ residing in Pleasant Hill, Lafayette, Orinda, Moraga, Alamo, Danville and San Ramon. Individuals receive a bag with fresh fruit and vegetables, and canned food. To apply, pick up an application at the distribution site or contact the Food Bank.

Distributes food to over 180 charitable agencies throughout Contra Costa and Solano counties, including soup kitchens and emergency food pantries, which provide food free to county residents in crisis situations, and residential programs that prepare meals for a particular group of disadvantaged individuals. Agency is certified and belongs to Feeding America, the National Food Bank Network.
