Foster Home Placement | Foster Family Program - Northern California Family Center
Recruits and provides foster family certification to enable families to be eligible to provide a crisis home for youth needing a safe environment for youths, ages 0 to 17, who are experiencing crisis while NCFC counselors work with the youth and family to reunite them, or develop mutually agreed upon alternatives. Also provides Long-term Foster care for children referred by Social Services in Contra Costa, Alameda, and Solano counties. To be eligible, family must possess the ability to relate effectively to and adequately supervise youth, have space to temporarily house one or more young people, possess the ability to be certified by the NCFC as a Foster Family, and pass child abuse and criminal background checks.

Provides outpatient counseling services, specializing in the treatment of children in families, as well as individual and couple counseling for problems that may include behavior disorders, school avoidance, abuse, family conflicts, marital conflict, depression and adjustment problems. Crisis counseling for adolescent runaways, homeless and at-risk youth. Mediation for these youth and their families. Provides emergency shelter for youth open 24 hour, 7 day a week. Recruits, trains and certifies foster families, who provide conventional foster care for children referred from Social Services in Contra Costa, Alameda and Solano counties.
