Youth Shelters | Safe Place - Runaway & Homeless Youth Line - Northern California Family Center
Provides hotline runaway and homeless youth offering shelter options, mediation, information and referral, and phone or in-person counseling. Provides free, immediate help to youth ages 0-17, including immediate housing in a foster home, crisis counseling, family mediation, transportation and referrals. Center is a Safe Place site. If a longer stay is needed, the youth would likely be placed in a foster home for shelter. SAFE Place is not a long-term shelter.

Provides outpatient counseling services, specializing in the treatment of children in families, as well as individual and couple counseling for problems that may include behavior disorders, school avoidance, abuse, family conflicts, marital conflict, depression and adjustment problems. Crisis counseling for adolescent runaways, homeless and at-risk youth. Mediation for these youth and their families. Provides emergency shelter for youth open 24 hour, 7 day a week. Recruits, trains and certifies foster families, who provide conventional foster care for children referred from Social Services in Contra Costa, Alameda and Solano counties.
