Contra Costa resident-family with dependent children; child must be deprived of support due to unemployed/underemployed adult in family or adult is physically or mentally handicapped; parent is deceased or parent is continually absent from home; child/children must 0-18; income limits apply.

Application process

Apply online or call for information; application for CalWORKs includes completion of eligibility forms and an interview with a case-manager. Aid cannot begin until all conditions of eligibility have been verified. Cannot apply by mail.
