Description

Phone consults with lawyers available by phone. Provides referrals to private practicing lawyers in specific areas of the law, as well as local government, consumer, and public service agencies. Trained legal interviewers screen clients to determine the location and language requirements for the most convenient referral possible. If it is determined that a lawyer's advice is recommended, clients are scheduled for a thirty-minute consultation with the appropriate attorney in the area. If a legal consultation is not necessary, clients are referred to an appropriate organization or agency in the area. Clients having a fee dispute with their attorney, must contact the State Bar of California Mandatory Fee Arbitration Program.
