State/Local Health Insurance Programs | Child Health and Disability Prevention (CHDP) Program - CCHS

Provides children and youth who do not have medical insurance, are under 19 years of age, live in California, and have a have family incomes at or below 200% of federal income guidelines, regular preventive health assessments. CHDP coordinates follow-up of identified health problems, and refers those with suspected health problems for necessary diagnosis and treatment. The program provides well-child exams for children 1 month and older, involved in sports and need a 'regular' yearly physical, children with a history of prenatal problems, and children with significant developmental disabilities.
