Conducts follow-up investigations on all reported felony offenses and certain misdemeanor offenses that occur in the unincorporated area of Contra Costa County to determine the facts. Investigates and identifies individuals responsible for the crime in addition to recovery of stolen property. Also provides drop-off for unused/expired medications/drugs.

Provides oversight of all Office of the Sheriff operations, including Coroner's Office, detention facilities, patrol services for unincorporated Contra Costa County, follow-up of felony and misdemeanor crimes committed in the County, oversees the County's Office of Emergency Services, and other related law enforcement and homeland security services. Also provides drop-off for unused/expired medications.
