Provides a national, 24-hour, and toll-free suicide prevention service for veterans who are in a suicidal crisis who are seeking help. Veterans seeking help can dial 988 and press one to talk to a counselor. An online chat service for veterans in emotional distress is also available at veteranscrisisline.net. Veterans can chat online anonymously with a counselor 24 hours daily. Friends and family members of a veteran in crisis are also welcomed to use Veterans Chat. Website has extensive veterans resources including VA Homeless National Line.
