Discovers and assessing all property within the County, produces and delivers an assessment roll by July 1 of each year, values all real property, audits all entities doing business in the County and valuing all taxable personal property, establishes and maintains a set of 11,000 maps for assessment purposes, delineates every parcel of land in the County and provides a public information service to assist taxpayers with questions about property ownership and assessment including proposition 60 which provides for the transfer of property tax base for senior citizens. Conducts public auctions and sealed bid sales on tax defaulted properties. Administers the business licenses and transient occupancy taxes programs for the unincorporated areas of the county as required by law or County Ordinance. Assists in the State-run property tax assistance.
