Restaurant/Food Sanitation Enforcement | Environmental Health Division

Rat Control | Contra Costa Mosquito and Vector Control District

Provides an inspection and advice service for rats and mice. Homeowners, business owners or any group in Contra Costa County can request the District’s Rat and Mouse service to assist them with rodent issues. During the service, a District employee inspects the exterior of the property and can inspect the inside of a home’s garage as long as the garage door remains up. The District employee will then provide, valuable, detailed information, guidance and recommendations on what the resident or business owner can do to reduce the risk of rats, mice, and the diseases they can transmit through waste products and nesting materials. District employees do not bait nor set traps.

Tick Control | Contra Costa Mosquito and Vector Control District

Provides identification of ticks and biting or stinging pest samples submitted by Contra Costa County residents. Contra Costa County Residents may send a tick or pest sample to the District’s office at 155 Mason Circle, Concord, CA 94520 or drop the sample off in person. The District’s laboratory staff will identify the tick or other biting or stinging insect and let the resident know the results. If the pest is a tick and the resident wishes to have the tick tested for Lyme disease, the District can provide a list of local laboratories that will conduct Lyme disease testing. Since April 1, 2010, the District no longer tests ticks for Lyme disease that are brought in by the public.
