Education Volunteer Opportunities | Project Second Chance - Adult Literacy Program - San Pablo

Student Dropout Prevention Volunteer Opportunities | People Who Care Children Association

Provides preventative, individualized and comprehensive mental health support services to at risk youth. Services include individual and family counseling, community service program, and job training program to at-risk youth. Collaborates with different school districts to support kids who have attendance/tardies issues and behavioral challenges including kids who are on probation to support their needs and prevent them from entering the juvenile justice system. Youth are partnered with various volunteer opportunities including Pittsburg Senior Center, Public Works, Community events, faith based events, parks and recreation, and community council events.

Education Volunteer Opportunities | Diablo Valley Literacy Council

Offers tutor volunteer opportunities for English speaking adults who would like to help ESL (English as a second language) adults in the community to read, write and speak English. The DVLC workshop provides training, teaching materials (a nominal fee) plus ongoing support to those who complete the 2-day workshop. DVLC produces a quarterly newsletter and get-together events throughout the year. Tutor training workshops are held twice a year in the spring and in the fall.
