Commonly treated conditions for children and adolescents include; depression, stress and anxiety, bipolar disorder, oppositional defiant disorder, psychosis, severe attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), mood swings and anger, suicidal and self-harm thoughts, bullying and victimization, trauma, and grieving issues. Inpatient hospitalizations, which usually last five to six days, include individual and group therapy sessions; therapeutic recreational activities such as music, dance, and art; and pastoral care. Patients learn to recognize stressors and develop healthy coping mechanisms.
