Provides course designed to help those who want to learn step-by-step how to apply for American citizenship. Students will also have the opportunity to develop and practice their English language skills specifically in preparation for the naturalization interview. Competency in English at the Intermediate Low II level is required to participate in this class. ESL classes are available to those who do not meet this requirement. Advocates for abused and neglected children currently involved in the Juvenile Court process by providing these children with advocacy services. Services are provided by trained volunteers who are appointed by the Court.

Provides information, referrals, assistance, understanding and hope to persons of all ages with disabilities as well as elderly individuals for the purpose of helping them to live as independently as possible. Services include: advocacy, benefits assistance, housing assistance, employment services, peer counseling services, assistance with independent educational planning (IEPs for school-aged youth), life skills, ADA information, public & businesses education. Referrals and resources are provided for: assistive technology, agencies serving the disabled, transportation, and youth programs. Advocacy services to increase access to services, benefits, and other social services and advising clients regarding their rights. Housing referral services assist clients by maintaining a registry of accessible, adaptable, affordable apartments and houses. Peer one-on-one counseling is available to disabled individuals, their families, and friends.

Provides a respite and services for low-income adults and/or homeless in the Walnut Creek area. Provides job and housing search assistance, mailbox, showers, clothing, a washer and dryer, case management, alcohol and other drug services, advocacy and assistance in accessing county, state and federal services, including SSI and Food Stamp benefits. Client in need of housing navigation ONLY, must contact other coordinated entry providers. Specializing in single adult men and women; very limited services for families; no childcare is provided.

Offers a respite care program for homeless adults who are discharging from local hospitals and require medical stabilization services. Respite care refers to recuperative services for those homeless persons who may not meet medical criteria for hospitalization, but who are too sick or medically vulnerable to reside in an emergency shelter and cannot be returned to the streets. Clients are ONLY admitted when discharged from a hospital; walk-ins are not accepted.

Offers assistance is to help prevent homelessness for households at immediate risk of becoming homeless, once every two years. Program provides limited financial assistance to eligible applicants for housing-related expenses. Assistance may be available for up to one month of rental arrears (back rent) for households that can demonstrate the ability to maintain ongoing housing costs after receiving support. Security deposit assistance may also be available for individuals or families who are relocating due to an unexpected or urgent situation, with requests required to be submitted within 30 days before or after the move-in date. This program does not provide assistance for more than one month of back rent, future or advance rent payments, late fees, or utility bills. Provides a discount of up to $50 per month towards broadband service for eligible households and up to $75 per month for households on qualifying Tribal lands. Eligible households can also receive a one-time discount of up to $100 to purchase a laptop, desktop computer, or tablet from participating providers if they contribute more than $10 and less than $50 toward the purchase price. The Emergency Broadband Benefit is limited to one monthly service discount and one device discount per household. After December 31, 2021, modifications to the existing EBB program will take effect.

Operates automotive repair and smog check station licensing units and several programs related to automotive repair and vehicle emissions including the Consumer Assistance Program (CAP) which assists consumers needing Smog Check repairs to bring their vehicles into compliance with emissions standards. CAP allows qualified motorists to receive financial assistance for emissions-related repairs from the state. Eligible consumers can receive payment to retire their high-polluting vehicle. Questions can be answered by calling the Customer Service number. An appointment is necessary to enter the field office in San Francisco; appointments can be made online. The field office handles scheduled interviews on non-asylum related applications.

Supports young adults, between the ages of 18 and 28, who experience or are at risk of experiencing housing and food insecurity. Focuses on chronic homelessness prevention in the youth community. Engages in community outreach and provides rapid resolution and chronic homeless prevention. Service includes, job finding assistance, and resume preparation etc.

Investigates complaints related to hospital financial assistance and debt collection practices, maintains hospital financial assistance policy information, and helps eligible patients access resources to reduce or pay hospital medical bills.
