Provides an online BenefitsCheckUp tool to locate federal, state and some local private and public benefits for older adults. Also provides a detailed description of the programs, local contacts for additional information (typically the addresses and phone numbers of where to apply for the programs), and materials to help successfully apply for each program.

Provides prevention programs in East County and outpatient substance abuse programs for adolescents grades 9-12 and adults. Provides a variety of programs for families with young children, age 0-5. Offers a place where clients can connect with each other, learn, and get access to community resources. Once registered at a First 5 Center, families can begin to choose from over 20 classes (in person/virtual) each session full of fun activities for families, parenting classes, workshops for adults, etc. All services are free. Provides direct childcare and emergency shelter services and wraparound support. Crisis Day Services offers emergency childcare services for up to 30 days in a 6-month period—60 days per year. A child can attend for the full day or just a couple of hours. Provides crisis residential overnight program in which parents can utilize this service for up to 30 days per crisis situation. Offers respite overnight program for parents experiencing stress, or who have used BACN’s services, can visit the Nursery for short-term monthly visits. These visits range from 1-3 days. Also provides food and diaper bank available to all community members in need of food, diapers, and formula. The BACN Boutique is a fully stocked, free boutique filled with children’s furniture, toys, books, clothes, and more for families participating in a program. Eligible parents may be experiencing a crisis or feel overwhelmed by parenting young children, lost their childcare provider or cannot afford childcare services, dealing with unemployment and underemployment, overwhelming parental stress, homelessness, escaping violence, or are suffering from a mental health disorder or physical illness.

Provides outpatient counseling services, specializing in the treatment of children and families, as well as individual and couple counseling for problems that may include behavior disorders, school avoidance, abuse, family conflicts, marital conflict, depression and adjustment problems, parent child interaction therapy. Provides fire suppression, emergency medical including paramedic, rescue, fire/arson investigation, building plan review, code enforcement, public education on fire and life safety, and weed abatement to Antioch, Clayton, Concord, Lafayette, Martinez, Pittsburg, Pleasant Hill, San Pablo, Walnut Creek, and most unincorporated areas of Contra Costa County. Accepts applications for and provides CalFresh benefits for eligible households. The CalFresh program is a nutrition assistance program in which eligible low income households can purchase food at participating grocery stores with the use of an Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) card that looks like a credit or debit card. Offers low-cost mental health services in-person or remote. Staff is able to support adults, children, adolescents, older adults, couples, and families with a variety of areas. Support areas include but are not limited to anxiety, depression, gender identity, stress, trauma, grief, family or couples counseling, and children & adolescent emotional/behavior issues. Also provides specialty clinics to support Latinx and LGBTQ+ community.

Offers transportation for medical appointments and other services in Walnut Creek. Apply by phone between 9-10am the day before transportation is needed. For medical appointments call 2 days in advance.

The MedicAlert symbol, found on identification bracelets, wallet cards, and other items, is recognized by medical professionals as a sign that additional medical information is immediately available even when people involved in an emergency cannot speak for themselves.

Provides support for adults whose lives have been or currently are affected by the alcoholism of a relative or friend. Confidentiality is respected regarding information shared at meetings. Offers behavioral therapy provided by a licensed clinical social worker and psychiatrist. Services includes; individual, family, adolescent counseling, eating disorders, sexual orientation counseling, psychiatric evaluations, Autism therapy and ADHD. Clinic offers diapers, formula, baby clothing, baby strollers, basinets, all dependent on donations.

Issues certified copies of California birth and death records that are on file from 1905 to the present. Maintains a central registry of California marriages and divorces, prepares new certificates for adoptions and changes in paternity information, corrects and amends vital records as authorized by State law and issues certified copies of California fetal death and still birth certificates. Supports child care programs by facilitating and increasing access to care. Services include assistance with finding and selecting child care and family resources, guidance and support applying for subsidized child care, technical assistance to child care professionals, child care needs assessment upon request, and parent education opportunities.

Provides mental health consultation to preschool teachers and administrators for help in dealing with children's emotional and behavioral issues to prevent expulsion from preschool and daycare.

Offers HUD-certified housing counseling. Works with individuals who wish to accomplish financial goals and become ready for home-ownership, manage rental obligations, or attain other financial and housing goals. Counseling services include one-on-one counseling sessions and group education workshops, pre-purchase counseling, credit repair, debt reduction, post-purchase financial readiness and budget counseling.
