Offers assistance is to help prevent homelessness for households at immediate risk of becoming homeless, once every two years. Provides short term financial assistance for families and individuals facing a housing crisis through no fault of their own. Applicants must be able to maintain their housing expenses after the financial support is provided. Clients who are on a fixed income and are not able to meet monthly rent obligations, may not be eligible for program to assist with rent arrears. Individuals or household's who receive TANF/CAlWORKs, IHSS, CAPI, or ILSP, or other EHSD program benefit, must request financial assistance through their case worker. Offers one month rent and/or deposit assistance to rehouse homeless individuals through ESG funds. Due to program limitations, assistance is not guaranteed and limited funds for Pittsburg, Concord, Antioch, and Walnut Creek. Program is not able to provide assistance for rent in advance or future rent. Effective immediately, participants who receive grants from SHELTER, Inc. cannot re-apply for assistance for 2 years. Limited amount of funds for utilities and deposit assistance. No back-rent assistance for: Subsidized rent (for example: Section 8), Subleasing (renting a place from a renter), Room rental (living at the same house as the landlord) or SLE.

Provides information about city's housing assistance programs, projects, and available resources. Offers information about Concord Rent Stabilization and Just Cause for Eviction including rent registry. Answers questions related to housing for tenants and landlords.

Provides case management, housing search assistance, employment search assistance and partial, time-limited financial assistance for security deposit and rent costs using a housing first, progressive engagement model. Leases are in the participant's name.

Partners with the Contra Costa County Employment & Human Services Department (EHSD) and the County Health, Housing and Homeless Services Department (H3) to provide the HousingWORKS! Housing Support Program (HSP): HousingWORKS! provides supportive housing services to homeless CalWORKs families to help them achieve self-sufficiency and housing stability. Supportive services include assistance with housing search and temporary/permanent housing placement, time-limited subsidy assistance using Rapid Rehousing and Housing First models and on-demand in-home services. Eligible families are referred through EHSD and the H3 County Coordinated Entry System. Offers Youth and Young Adult (YYA) Housing Support program which provides time-limited subsidy assistance and in-home support services to transition age youth to help them achieve permanent housing and independence the CC County Coordinated Entry System.
