Provides 15 to 20 pounds of fresh produce two times per month to qualifying households that are in need of food assistance. Produce is distributed from the Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano Mobile Trucks.

Ready-to-Eat (RTE) grocery bags available for households without steady access to heating, refrigeration, and/or storage.

Provides rental subsidy to the maximum extent allowable to low-income families who are residents of Pittsburg. The City of Pittsburg Housing Authority provides a FREE Unit Listing service for property owners to advertise their vacancies to Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher participants. This service is provided through a separate website by a company called GOsection8. The Housing Choice Voucher (section 8) program is currently closed to new entries.

Website has listing of tips and alerts for consumers, videos and other resources for consumers and businesses. Provides a listing of charities and donors as well as taking complaints on charities. Provides a variety of services for businesses including dispute resolution services and accreditation information.

Collects new toys for needy children in the community; toys are distributed through nonprofit agencies. Any new unwrapped toys may be dropped off year-round at a local fire station or brought to the United States Marine Corps Reserve Unit - 3225 Willow Pass Road in Concord. In December, drop-off points throughout the county will be announced on the website.

Provides adoption referral service for those who need to place or want to adopt a dog and/or a cat. Spay/Neuter Assistance Program (SNAP), provides low-cost veterinary clinic referrals, pet-friendly rentals list. Offers advice and referrals to low-cost veterinarians. Offers low-income families with supplementary pet food. CCHS does not handle lost/found animals, pick up stray animals or investigate cases of abuse & neglect.

Works with single adults who at imminent risk of becoming homeless within 14 days. Provides housing problem-solving and/or one time financial assistance to assist individuals in remaining in safe and stable housing. Referrals through 211. If a CARE Center encounters an individual who is at imminent risk, will refer individual to 211 for referral. 211 provides triage tool.

Provides immunization clinics which offer vaccines mainly for community members who don't have health insurance and children eligible for the free Vaccines for Children (VFC) program. Program does not accept private health insurance (i.e. Blue Shield, Kaiser). Patients must contact regular medical provider for vaccines. Immunization clinics offer: All doctor-recommended and school-required vaccines, COVID-19 vaccine, Mpox vaccine, and Flu vaccine.

Offers a resource group and drop-in for homeless Veterans. Provides information and referral to homeless shelters, transitional housing resources and options, permanent housing, and community resources.

Offers a variety of exercise/fitness classes for adults. Classes include, yoga, tai chi, zumba, pilates, weight training, including meditation. Classes may fill up fast or may be cancelled depending on registration.

Culturally respectful services that help to keep children and families safe in their home. This includes a strength-based assessment, case management, removing barriers to meeting family needs by providing referrals and connections to concrete supports (food, clothing, furniture, partial utility and rental assistance, etc.), parenting education and support, budgeting, advocacy, and educational support. Services are provided in the family's home, in the community, and in the office.

Provides information on senior housing and housing for dependent adults. Offers senior housing information and education including waitlist process. Assists individuals who are NOT in need of emergency housing. Individuals seeking emergency housing must call 2-1-1.

Provides City of Richmond tenants and landlords counseling and education, assistance with rent adjustment petitions, and mediation to help resolve disputes. Additionally, the program hosts regular workshops and community outreach events, facilitates Rent Board meetings, property enrollment, rent increase filings, and enforcement of just cause eviction rules.

Provides a twelve-week residential rehabilitation program for blind or severe vision disabled individuals to learn independent living skills. The adult students attend classes from 8:00 - 3:00, Monday through Friday and reside in a seven-day dorm during the time of their training. The OCB curriculum addresses the acquisition of new skills such as adjustment to new vision disabilities, adaptive skills, and immersion in an atmosphere that is respectful of and knowledgeable about the abilities of blind and visually impaired people. The decision to apply to the Center occurs between a DOR consumer and their counselor.

Offers 52-weeks domestic violence intervention program certified through Contra Costa County Probation. Provides certified anger management programs and specialized training courses. Courses are both court ordered and open to non-court-ordered. Offers juvenile anger management and domestic violence classes for individuals ages 16-18. Offers family reunification educational program for families who have experienced physical, mental, emotional, or psychological abuse/trauma.
