Provides a variety of programs for families with young children, age 0-5. Offers a place where clients can connect with each other, learn, and get access to community resources. Once registered at a First 5 Center, families can begin to choose from over 20 classes (in person/virtual) each session full of fun activities for families, parenting classes, workshops for adults, etc. All services are free. Provides comprehensive family planning services to eligible low income men and women who meet income guidelines and do not have insurance that covers family planning, or have insurance, but need to keep family planning services confidential, or have insurance but have not met the deductible or Medi-Cal Share of Cost, or have limited-scope Medi-Cal coverage that does not include family planning. Eligibility for teens is not based on parental income and by law parental consent is not required. We offer two programs: Contra Costa Outpatient Pittsburg and Community Support Program (CSP). Outpatient offers services for mild and moderate psychiatric disabilities including weekly individual and group psychotherapy. Recruits and provides foster family certification to enable families to be eligible to provide a crisis home for youth needing a safe environment for youths, ages 0 to 17, who are experiencing crisis while NCFC counselors work with the youth and family to reunite them, or develop mutually agreed upon alternatives. Also provides Long-term Foster care for children referred by Social Services in Contra Costa, Alameda, and Solano counties. To be eligible, family must possess the ability to relate effectively to and adequately supervise youth, have space to temporarily house one or more young people, possess the ability to be certified by the NCFC as a Foster Family, and pass child abuse and criminal background checks.
