Provides free legal services for Contra Costa seniors age 60+ including advice, counsel and representation in civil legal matters, such as: elder abuse, consumer matters, housing, income maintenance as well as advance health care directives and durable power of attorney. Special Free Wills Clinic and Consult-an-Attorney Programs conducted at selected Senior Centers throughout the County; Pro Bono Program conducted to assist in placing eligible clients with private attorneys where possible. Contra Costa Senior Legal Services does not provide assistance in Criminal Law, Family Law (with the exception of elder abuse), Immigration Law, Personal Injury, Probate or Tax matters. Provides legal information and provides presentations to community groups Advance Health Care Directives, Powers of Attorney, and Prevention of Elder Abuse.

Provides fair housing counseling and information to Antioch residents. Offers tenant landlord counseling including evictions, rent increase, deposits, repairs, retaliations etc., to Antioch residents.

Provides City of Richmond tenants and landlords counseling and education, assistance with rent adjustment petitions, and mediation to help resolve disputes. Additionally, the program hosts regular workshops and community outreach events, facilitates Rent Board meetings, property enrollment, rent increase filings, and enforcement of just cause eviction rules.

Offers free legal information to tenants regarding renters rights, tenant issues and more for East and Central county tenants. Hosted by EBASE, Monument Impact and Bay Area Legal Aid. Clinics are held virtually over Zoom every first and third Tuesday of the month.

Provides veterans financial assistance to enter new housing (veterans must currently be homeless) or eviction prevention. The program also has potential to assist with past eviction debt on a case-by-case basis if it is a barrier to entry of new housing.

Provides an online toolkit to help individuals stay in their homes, by fighting eviction and debt. Online tool has extensive information to support individuals who need to respond to an unlawful detainer or small claims lawsuits. Connects users to tenant organizations across California, as well as tenant unions and build collective power over both landlords and government.

Provides housing counseling services, including confidential mortgage default and delinquency counseling to families who are in danger of losing their homes through foreclosure or eviction. Does not provide rental assistance nor filing paperwork for eviction but presents option on how to respond to eviction notice. Offers mediation of tenant/landlord disputes, referrals to tenant organizations, tenant/landlord rights, legal counseling, and fair housing counseling. Serves Antioch, Pittsburg and Bay Point residents only.

Offers a statewide renters' rights hotline. Provides free one-on-one phone counseling sessions to tenants who are in need of counseling for rent increases, evictions, habitability concerns, and other tenant issues.

Provides legal services via remote advocacy related to housing issues include: public, subsidized (including Section 8 and other HUD subsidized projects) and private housing, fair housing and housing discrimination, housing conditions, rent control, eviction defense, lock-outs and utility shutoffs, residential hotels. Bay Area Legal Aid does not handle criminal matters.
