In response to the need for affordable, comprehensive assessment services, the JFK School of Psychology and Social Sciences offers a Psychological Assessment Clinic (PAC) serving children (5+), adolescents, and adults. Services include ADHD and autism evaluations, learning disability and cognitive testing, behavioral health consultative evaluations, school and select workplace accommodation assessments, general psychological/psychiatric evaluations, and neuropsychological assessments.

Provides a web based service to help people find assistance and information, work better with an attorney, and represent themselves in some legal matters. Some of the areas for legal information involve hundreds of tools, resources and links for legal assistance in the areas needed by self-represented litigants, including divorce, domestic violence, child custody/support, traffic, and claims. It includes links to legal services organizations and lawyer referral programs where litigants can get legal advice and additional assistance, along with easy to understand descriptions of court proceeding, and step by step guides to court forms.

Hosts a peer support group at the Rainbow Community Center of Contra Costa County in Concord, open to anyone interested in discussing issues of gender identity in a safe, supportive atmosphere. Provides non-emergency medical transportation for ambulatory, wheelchair, wheelchair bariatric, stair chair and gurney individuals. Also provides non-emergency medical transportation for special needs individuals.

Provides a 12-week virtual support group or one-on-one fathering skills, parenting & relationship skills, self-awareness, and self-care. Offers additional sessions for new, expectant, and non-custodial fathers on workforce development, rights & responsibilities, child support, and money management. Provides support to vulnerable populations with wrap around support, housing navigation, housing deposit assistance, housing stabilizing, and retention services.

Offers a variety of exercise/fitness classes for children, teens and adults. Classes include, yoga, and zumba. Classes may fill up fast or may be cancelled depending on registration.

Provides a broad range of services to adults with psychiatric disabilities. Issues include, depression, bipolar, schizophrenia, PTSD, anxiety, relationship conflict, developmental concerns, prescription management, family communication and parenting issues. We offer two programs: Contra Costa Outpatient Pittsburg and Community Support Program (CSP). Outpatient offers services for mild and moderate psychiatric disabilities including weekly individual and group psychotherapy. CSP offers intensive services for severe psychiatric disabilities including case management, medication management, 24/7 hour crisis line, individual/group/family psychotherapy, housing/education/vocational support, peer support, and dual diagnosis treatment.

Provides legal representation for indigent persons accused of crimes in Contra Costa County. Offers assistance with clearing prior criminal records through the Clean Slate Program. Provides rapid response, legal services, and community education project to support safety and justice for immigrant families through the Stand Together Contra Costa Program. Represents youth in long-term placement (group homes) and long term in-custody programs as well as youth in extended foster care proceedings through the Juvenile Justice Program. Provides legal assistance, information, and representation to individuals who have been arrested or cited for misdemeanor offenses from the time that they have had police contact through the Early Representation Program. Provides interdisciplinary case management and navigation services to individuals to ensure timely and coordinated access to a client-centered array of housing, behavioral health, transportation, and legal services at time of initial law enforcement contact. Provides community-based solutions to programs for alternatives to custody and develop re-entry plans by communicating directly with clients and members of their support systems. Works with clients to identify alternatives to incarceration such as substance abuse treatment, mental health treatment or connections with re-entry case management programs throughout Contra Costa County. Provides incarcerated, convicted, and sentenced individuals access to different kinds of post-conviction relief and resentencing, made available through recent state legislation.

Provides preschool for Bay Area children ages 3-6, elementary, middle school, and high school education, as well as a career center, transition services, and resource center for deaf for individuals from San Louis Obispo to the Oregon border. Students from nearby communities attend on a day school basis; a residential program (age 5+) is available for those at a further distance. Referral needed from student's local school district. Provides City of Richmond tenants and landlords counseling and education, assistance with rent adjustment petitions, and mediation to help resolve disputes. Additionally, the program hosts regular workshops and community outreach events, facilitates Rent Board meetings, property enrollment, rent increase filings, and enforcement of just cause eviction rules.

Provides information, referrals and resources for relatives raising the child of a family member.

Maintains a central registry of California marriages and divorces, prepares new certificates for adoptions and changes in paternity information, corrects and amends vital records as authorized by State law and issues certified copies of California fetal death and still birth certificates. Provides dependable breastfeeding information and support to Contra Costa County women including answers to breastfeeding questions, follow-up support (warmline consultants will continue support of a breastfeeding mother to help her resolve breastfeeding problems), referrals to WIC Breastfeeding Counselors (for WIC participants only), referrals to in-person lactation support, and referrals to other services as appropriate. Staffed by volunteers who are experts on breastfeeding and related issues, all calls made to the warmline are responded to within 24 hours, 7 days a week.

Provides 24/7 call/chat services for active, inactive, and veterans in need of support or community resources.

Provide assistance to help refugees locate health services to evaluate and improve their health. Provides services which focus on health assessments to identify communicable diseases and to refer those in need of medical attention to health care providers. Working in collaboration with different agencies, assists refugees transition to life in America and become self-sufficient. Services include outreach, health screenings, health education, immunizations, tuberculosis follow-up and care, referrals to health and human services, interpretation, and health advocacy.

Offers a supplemental nutrition program that helps low income pregnant women, mothers with infants, infants, and young children eat well, be active and stay healthy. Provides supplemental food benefits using a WIC card. Offers nutrition and breastfeeding support and education, and referrals to other health and community services.
