Provides a team-based approach including coordination of mental health, education, welfare, juvenile justice, and other social services into a network to meet the individual needs of children with emotional and behavioral disturbances. Due to current pandemic center is not accepting clothing donations. However, in partnership with White Pony Express the donation room is stocked for current members.

Provides assistance to individuals or families with enrollment applications to Medi-Cal or Covered California. Clients do not need to be patients of La Clinica. Offers information and counseling on renewing Medi-Cal applications and submitting quarterly reports. Provides appointment navigation assistance to clients who are having difficulties understanding their coverage.

Provides application assistance with CalFresh, MediCal, CalWorks, Cash Aid, and Unemployment. Submits rental assistance applications for clients who do not have access to internet or a computer. Refer to other community partners for help with immigration, tenant rights, veteran services as well as health care services.

Accepts donations and sells: clothing, collectibles, jewelry, housewares, linens, and books at greatly reduced prices. All work is performed by volunteers. Proceeds support the Contra Costa Crisis Center.

Provides an inspection and advice service for rats and mice. Homeowners, business owners or any group in Contra Costa County can request the District’s Rat and Mouse service to assist them with rodent issues. During the service, a District employee inspects the exterior of the property and can inspect the inside of a home’s garage as long as the garage door remains up. The District employee will then provide, valuable, detailed information, guidance and recommendations on what the resident or business owner can do to reduce the risk of rats, mice, and the diseases they can transmit through waste products and nesting materials. District employees do not bait nor set traps.

Provides adoption referral service for those who need to place or want to adopt a dog and/or a cat. Spay/Neuter Assistance Program (SNAP), provides low-cost veterinary clinic referrals, pet-friendly rentals list. Offers advice and referrals to low-cost veterinarians. Offers low-income families with supplementary pet food. CCHS does not handle lost/found animals, pick up stray animals or investigate cases of abuse & neglect.

Provides non-emergency medical transportation for ambulatory, wheelchair, wheelchair bariatric, stair chair and gurney individuals. Also provides non-emergency medical transportation for special needs individuals.

Provides disaster planning services, coordinates disaster outreach for public agencies and contract cities in the County and helps County Departments with emergency preparedness, disaster mitigation and recovery.
