JFK School of Psychology and Social Sciences offers a Psychological Assessment Clinic (PAC) serving children (5+), adolescents, and adults. Services include ADHD and autism evaluations, learning disability and cognitive testing, behavioral health consultative evaluations, school and select workplace accommodation assessments, general psychological/psychiatric evaluations, and neuropsychological assessments.

Provides Device Lending Libraries and Reuse Centers that loan or distribute assistance technology devices for free or at a low cost. Clients can choose to give away devices or sell used devices, including placing want ads for devices in need. over 36 different categories to search from.

Store sells adaptive visual devices; items can also be ordered from the online store. LightHouse for the Blind has offices in Marin, Berkeley and Eureka, and a camp in Napa.

Provides personal, confidential support and information to heterosexual spouses/partners, current or former, of gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgender mates and mixed-orientation couples or transgender/non-transgender couples for constructively resolving coming-out issues. Offers research-based information about spouse, couple, and family issues and resources to other family members, professionals, community organizations, and the public. Support groups are available online or in person.

Provides children and youth who do not have medical insurance, are under 19 years of age, live in California, and have a have family incomes at or below 200% of federal income guidelines, regular preventive health assessments. CHDP coordinates follow-up of identified health problems, and refers those with suspected health problems for necessary diagnosis and treatment. The program provides well-child exams for children 1 month and older, involved in sports who need a 'regular' yearly physical, have a history of prenatal problems, or with significant developmental disabilities.

Offers one-stop center for people affected by domestic violence, sexual assault, elder abuse, child abuse and human trafficking. Center helps people in crisis to find hope, safety and healing by being a one-stop center where many service providers are readily available.

Provides services for ham radio operators in Contra Costa County including licensing exams. During a disaster or emergency crisis, Amateur Radio operators set up and operate organized communication networks locally for governmental and emergency officials, as well as non-commercial communication for private citizens affected by the disaster. Amateur Radio operators are most likely to be active after disasters that damage regular lines of communications due to power outages and destruction of telephone, cellular and other infrastructure-dependent systems.

Provides immunization clinics which offer vaccines mainly for community members who don't have health insurance and children eligible for the free Vaccines for Children (VFC) program. Program does not accept private health insurance (i.e. Blue Shield, Kaiser). Patients must contact regular medical provider for vaccines. Immunization clinics offer: All doctor-recommended and school-required vaccines, COVID-19 vaccine, Mpox vaccine, and Flu vaccine.

Issues certified copies of California birth and death records that are on file from 1905 to the present. Maintains a central registry of California marriages and divorces, prepares new certificates for adoptions and changes in paternity information, corrects and amends vital records as authorized by State law and issues certified copies of California fetal death and still birth certificates. Provides consumer information, education, and protection including maintaining files of verified information about businesses located in the counties of service, processes complaints and makes available reliability reports on companies and charitable or soliciting organizations. Website has listing of tips and alerts for consumers, videos and other resources for consumers and businesses. Provides a listing of charities and donors as well as taking complaints on charities. Provides a variety of services for businesses including dispute resolution services and accreditation information.

Provides resources for relatives raising the child of a family member; this is primarily but not only grandparents raising their grandchildren. Services include support groups, recreation and respite opportunities; after school services; educational workshops; case management and advocacy; basic needs assistance with and help with legal guardianship, etc

Provides employment, vocational and life skills services to at-risk youth and young adults. Veterans seeking help can dial 988 and press one to talk to a counselor. An online chat service for veterans in emotional distress is also available at http://veteranscrisisline.net. Veterans can chat online anonymously with a counselor 24 hours daily. Friends and family members of a veteran in crisis are also welcomed to use Veterans Chat. Trains and educates people with disabilities and parents of children with disabilities about their rights under state and federal disability rights laws so they can use the laws as tools to challenge exclusion and discrimination, and advocate effectively for full participation in the lives of their communities. Provides legal advocacy including representing clients in high impact litigation cas laws. Serves as co-counsel and prepare amicus curiae briefs on behalf of parties that include disability community representatives and members of Congress in disability rights cases heard by the U.S. Supreme Court and an impact on decision making process.

Provides services across four areas (income, assets, wellness, and social connections) to low-income parents and those with a history of incarceration or probation seeking coaching, workshops, and assistance in obtaining employment, launching a career, building a budget, repairing credit, resolving legal issues, applying for public benefits, and becoming a better parent or neighbor. Additional services include, job readiness placement, on-the-job training, legal services addressing barriers to employment, financial education, debt repayment guidance, behavioral health services and referral, health education workshops, health insurance enrollment and navigation as well as social connections to support in building and maintaining a professional network.

Offers sliding scale mediation services to help individuals find mutually fair and lasting solutions to conflict and disputes between neighbors, landlords and tenants, merchants, consumers, employees and employers in Contra Costa. It is an informal service that will not result in court or police records. Panel hearings are normally held within 14 days from time of request, with sessions scheduled at the convenience of participants. Mediators are trained volunteer community members.

Provides a broad range of services to adults with psychiatric disabilities. Issues include, depression, bipolar, schizophrenia, PTSD, anxiety, relationship conflict, developmental concerns, prescription management, family communication and parenting issues. We offer two programs: Contra Costa Outpatient Pittsburg and Community Support Program (CSP). Outpatient offers services for mild and moderate psychiatric disabilities including weekly individual and group psychotherapy. CSP offers intensive services for severe psychiatric disabilities including case management, medication management, 24/7 hour crisis line, individual/group/family psychotherapy, housing/education/vocational support, peer support, and dual diagnosis treatment.
