The program provides free parent community groups (twice monthly) and home-based support for up to six weeks. Home-based support can be in person or on video, and is specific to everyday moments in a family's life: i.e. navigating nap time, dealing with tantrums, helping with playtime or any everyday moment. A specialist works one-on-one with the family, to help discover how to support the child's development in any moment together. Everyday Moments Home-Based Support is provided by specialists from We Care Services for Children, Early Childhood Mental Health Program, and the Lynn Center. Parent community groups are provided by C.O.P.E. Family Support Center. The parent community groups are held twice per month online, where parents can learn about child development and share stories, wisdom, and ask questions. Groups offer parent-to-parent networking, and learning about ways to support the child. Attend only one, or attend the groups regularly, all free to any Contra Costa County resident with a child under six.
