Recruits volunteers to assist organizations with tax preparation. All volunteers are trained. No experience necessary. Bilingual Spanish speakers are needed. Positions available are: Tax Preparer, Screeners, Interpreters and Greeters. All tax preparers and screeners must be trained and certified by the IRS. This training is free but those who attend training must volunteer at a VITA site for the season. All volunteers preparing tax returns or answering tax law related questions must be certified and must take an open book exam. There are two levels to certify in: basic and advanced.
