Provides emergency adult shelter for single adults. Provides the basic needs of shelter, shower, food, and clothing. Service includes case management services assisting residents with linkage to appropriate support programs and organizations including, housing support, social and human resource services, employment search and placement, legal services, counseling and health needs. Some rooms are made available for couples or individuals with special needs. Center has 15 spots available to serve as a warming center (overnight stay) for vulnerable populations.

Provides free, confidential, one-on-one basic instruction in reading, writing, and spelling to adults who can converse in English. Instruction is provided by trained volunteers. Adult learner/tutor pairs meet twice a week, for an hour and a half each time at libraries or other public locations throughout Contra Costa County.

Provides routine and preventive health care services including primary care, short-notice/same-day appointments, family medicine, pediatrics, adult medicine, behavioral health and group classes. Care coordinators relay messages to doctors and assist patients with medical concerns. Clients can reach their doctor's care coordinator by calling the backdoor number and leave a message.

Provides HUD-subsidized, all-low income apartments for seniors 62+ and for mobility impaired age 18+.

Provides a support group for caregivers of individuals with Alzheimer's Disease or other dementia. Offers an opportunity to learn, share knowledge, and or plan for the future.

Provides children with disabilities a recreation assistants to enable them to attend traditional after school care programs. It is open to children in grades K-8. UCPGG pays for the recreation assistant and the participating family is only responsible for the traditional charges of the after school program that they choose.

Offers support to youth navigating the juvenile system with diversion classes, Know Your Rights workshops and community service opportunities for court ordered requirement. May be referred through probation counselor, court or parents who need help with their adolescent. Diversion program is 8 weeks and there are three groups throughout the year.

Supports families of individuals with mental illnesses, educates families and the public about mental illness, advocates for improved treatment and treatment facilities, fight stigma and discrimination, supports legislation that helps those with neurobiological brain disorders, improves private and public sector policies, increases outreach to people with mental illnesses and their families. Refers clients to local support groups provided through other organizations or local churches.

Provides administration over all Orinda city parks and recreational activities, and community centers. A variety of classes are available for children, teens, and adults including art classes, dance and exercise classes, martial arts, sports, summer camps and trips.

For the safety of patients and staff, when there is high Covid19 activity, limited guests to accompany patient for in person visits will be in place and telephone/video appointments will be offered where possible. Appropriate KN95 or surgical masks will be required for entry. Patients are strongly advised to call for information. Provides free legal and social services to children and youth in four main areas; immigration, guardianships, education discipline cases (expulsions), and dependency. Represents minors only and cannot give legal advise to adults or to people outside of the state of California.

Offers crisis intervention, information, literature, and referrals to thousands of emergency, social service, and support resources to victims of child abuse. All calls are anonymous and confidential. The Hotline is staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week with professional crisis counselors who, through interpreters, can provide assistance in 140 languages.

Care coordinator relays messages to doctors and assists patients with specialty referrals. LVN panel Coordinator assists patients with medication questions, refills, re-writes, etc. Patients can reach their doctor's coordinator by dialing backdoor numbers and leave a message.

Offers a doula service and a doula training program in Contra Costa County operated through a partnership with Contra Costa County's Perinatal Equity Initiative (PEI). Provides a free training program for community members to become doulas. Doula program offers prenatal home visits, prenatal care appointment support, birth planning, labor and delivery support, postpartum home visits breastfeeding assistance, infant care overview/instruction, perinatal depression screening and linkage and referrals to health and social services.

Works in partnership with the emergency management agencies of Arizona, California, Hawaii and Nevada, as well as the territories of American Samoa and Guam, the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, the Republic of the Marshall Islands and the Federated States of Micronesia to prepare for, respond to and recover from disasters.
